Ask Agent*** Vendors comments *** " I have lived at Gedge Court for my entire life. This wasn't just a flat I bought, it was my parents' home, and the place where my brothers, my sister and I all grew up. Every corner holds a memory.
This flat has seen school photos on the wall, arguments over the TV remote, Sunday roasts around the table, and the quiet comfort of family during difficult times.
One of my very fondest memories is playing with my guinea pig on the field at the back. That field was my little kingdom as a child, endless summers, soft grass and that simple joy of having outdoor space right on your doorstep. Even now, that open area at the rear gives Gedge Court a rare sense of breathing room that you don't often find in flat living.
My primary school was just up the road. I walked there every single day, no complicated drop-offs, no stressful traffic. Just a short, safe stroll that gave me independence from a young age.
Then, when I started work, I would catch the train from the station that used to sit right here before the tram link came in. I've watched this area change over decades, but the convenience has only improved. The transport links today are genuinely outstanding. The tram is now the heartbeat of local travel, you can hop on and be in Wimbledon or Croydon in no time at all. For central London, you can catch one of the many buses down to Morden Underground Station (Northern Line) and be in the West End within 45 minutes. Buses are plentiful and reliable, so even without a car, you're exceptionally well connected.
Beyond transport, Mitcham itself has so much to offer. You're close to Mitcham Common, acres of open green space perfect for dog walking, jogging, or just clearing your head. The Tandem Centre and Priory Retail Park are nearby for shopping, and there's a wonderful mix of independent cafes, traditional pubs, and family-run restaurants along London Road and around Mitcham town centre.
For everyday essentials, you've got supermarkets within easy reach, and the community feel here is something special.
Sadly the family has taken the difficult decision to put the flat on the market. It breaks my heart to leave, because coming here has always meant coming home. But we feel the time is right for a new family to walk through the door and start making their own memories.
This flat will make a lovely family home, just as it was for us. It has warmth, history, space to grow and a location that works for school runs, commutes and quiet weekends alike. I hope the next chapter for Gedge Court is as happy as ours has been".
